In a conversation with the public relations of the ammonium sulfate production plant, the top farmer of our country said: “The main challenge of agriculture in our country is water shortage.”
Pressurized irrigation systems, preventing water evaporation and transpiration, and financial supports (participation bonds or low-interest loans) to move towards modern agriculture and increase water productivity are some solutions to this problem.
Implementing a pressurized irrigation system, using a water storage pool, focusing on native varieties, covering water hoses to reduce water evaporation and transpiration, and reducing the area under cultivation are some of the solutions to increase water efficiency.
Our country’s climate is semi-arid and our soil is saline and lacking in organic matter. The best solution is to use sweeter organic fertilizers and sweeter sulfated chemical fertilizers, and minimize the use of chlorine and ammonia fertilizers in the region. We had better move towards sulfate fertilizers, which have less salinity, and use rotted livestock manure because our lands are in dire need of organic matter.
Referring to the establishment of an ammonium sulfate fertilizer production plant in Rafsanjan, Behrouz Zainali said: “Ammonium sulfate is a fertilizer we can use to eliminate nitrogen deficiency.” Especially in arid regions and pistachio-growing areas where the soil and water are salty; Sulfate is a corrective. Unfortunately, the government supports urea, although it is rich in nitrogen, in the long run it hardens the soil and also causes problems during hot weather. If ammonium sulfate fertilizer replaces urea, it can improve the soil. We hope that the government and the private sector will move towards standard ammonium sulfate fertilizer production at a reasonable price.
He continued: “Initially, ammonium sulfate fertilizer was imported from Uzbekistan, then it came from Isfahan, and recently the Green Alchemy factory in Rafsanjan has started producing ammonium sulfate fertilizer, in granular and powder forms.” “We hope that farmers, especially those in Rafsanjan, will be able to use these standard products, which are more accessible to them, without paying shipping charges.
He expressed hope that Green Alchemy factory continue to serve its customers and always comply with the standards. People in Rafsanjan will support Green Alchemy ammonium sulfate factory, and they expect the company to provide them with high quality products.
In the end, given Kerman Province’s 25 percent share of the country’s orchards, he called on domestic and foreign investors to participate in producing different products like diammonium phosphate, liquid phosphorus, water soluble fertilizers, and biofertilizers and become self-sufficient in terms of agricultural production.
